Welcome To Our Village

Welcome to the Village of Cottage Grove, a great place to live, work, do business and play! Situated conveniently between the major transportation routes of Interstate 90/94 and Highways 12/18 and only minutes from Madison's east side and the Dane County Regional Airport, Cottage Grove enjoys the benefits of small town Wisconsin, as well as the metropolitan culture and advantages of nearby Madison. Village Profile

Population

5,525. One of the steadiest growing areas in the Midwest.

Location

Situated south of I94, north of I90, 3 miles east of Madison, Wisconsin's capital city.

Government

Served by a Village President and 6 at-large Trustees. Day-to-day operations are run by Village Administrator and several Department Heads.

Recreation

The Village of Cottage Grove boasts 10 parks and open space areas with 189 total acres available. Additionally, the school district maintains large playgrounds and playfields at two local elementary schools and a 68-acre School Forest with trails and educational opportunities. McCarthy County Park is located just north of the Village and downtown the Glacial Drumlin State Trail begins its 51 mile course through rolling farmland and small towns on its route to the city of Waukesha. The City of Madison, located a short drive from Cottage Grove, offers many opportunities for sailing, fishing, dining, theater, shopping or almost anything your heart desires!
