Adult Fitness Classes

Only one session is listed at the beginning of Fall for most fitness classes due to class changes to tailor to your needs. For future class updates, please visit the website and join the "Cottage Grove Fitness" Facebook Group to stay in the loop!

All fitness classes are appropriate for ALL fitness levels. Modifications are provided when needed. Please bring a yoga mat, water and towel to every class.

Morning Fitness Classes


Cardio/Strength/Core


Location: Municipal Services Building, 210 Progress Drive (around back enter blue door)

Each class is divided into three 15-minute intervals, 15 min of core training, 15 min of strength training and 15 min of cardio training to give you a full body workout. All fitness classes welcome. No equipment needed. Please bring a yoga mat and towel.

Full body, strength training format, featuring four unique blocks of work: cardio strength, lower strength, upper strength and x-core. Suitable for all fitness levels, full modifiable for beginners as well as challenging enough for the most ardent athletes. Please bring a yoga mat, water and towel.

Lunch Fitness Classes

Pilates/Barre


Location: Municipal Services Building, 210 Progress Drive (around back enter blue door)
Instructor: Ellen Utter

Combine the fundamentals of Pilates with a barre workout inspired by dance, ballet, Pilates, and yoga. Tone, define, and chisel the whole body. Build core strength, stability, and balance with this high intensity/low impact workout using portable ballet barres/chairs for light support. Some times other light apparatus is used. Yoga mats are optional and modifications are demonstrated.

Strength & Abs to Tighten & Tone

Burn fat and tighten/tone your entire body. Using free weights, body weight, exercise balls and more, you challenge all your muscles - including your core! Resistance training does more than just make your muscles stronger - it boosts your metabolism, burns calories & improves your mood!

Small Group Training - Strength Foundations


Location: Municipal Services Building, 210 Progress Drive (around back enter blue door)

TWorking with a Certified Personal Trainer in a small group setting, the program starts with an individual fitness assessment, a goal planning interview, and then a personalized training program created just for you. Your trainer provides instruction to you, along with a small group of others, on safe and proper form and execution of your program. The group environment helps to encourage each other to work hard and to stay on track while working on a personal plan. A great way to tone your body, burn calories, and improve your overall fitness by having a personal program created just for you. Max: 8.

Tabata

Instructor: Shelly Tipton
Tabata Training is a high-intensity training (HIIT) workout. During this 30 minute Tabata workout, you will be challenged with exercises that you will perform for 20 seconds followed by a 10 second recovery. Tabata is a short, efficient workout which will produce results. This class is for everyone!

Yoga Flow

Learn fundamental alignment techniques and basic Hatha yoga postures then combine these with Vinyasa flow movements to energize, build strength and increase flexibility. Stretch/strengthening the spine and integration with the core is included. All levels welcome. Please bring a mat.
